Ronald Eckert, MD

Retired Gastroenterologist

I grew up in Buffalo,New York. Following graduation Magna Cum Laude from Canisius College in 1965, I went to the University of Rochester School of Medicine, graduating in 1969. Following a medical internship and two years of medical residency at the University of Kentucky, I completed a two year Gastroenterology Fellowship. I served two years as an attending Gastroenterologist  at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Thereafter,I was in private practice in Gastroenterology in Western New York for 35 years.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Malignant Melanoma in May of 2012. Following a two year medical leave of absence, I formally retired in May of 2014.
