Robert O. Roswell, MD
Dr. Robert O. Roswell, MD, FACP, FACC is a leader in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine including influential studies and talks focusing on the impact of implicit bias on disparities in health care access, delivery, and outcomes. As Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Associate Professor of Cardiology and Science Education, he oversees recruitment initiatives, pipeline programs, innovative and enhanced medical curricula to build towards health equity and inclusion at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Roswell received his certification as a Health Care Executive for Diversity and Inclusion from the Association of American Medical Colleges. He is a nationally recognized authority both clinically and academically, serving on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Internal Medicine and chairs its Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology Board of Trustee Health Equity Taskforce, a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists, and on the the Steering Committee of the Critical Care Cardiology Trials Network. As a Co-Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health, he is devoted to providing high-quality, culturally sensitive acute cardiac care to patients. Dr. Roswell has been recognized by the American Heart Association for the Young Heart Award and by the Student National Medical Association for outstanding mentorship and appreciation.
